EU, AGBU to implement €2-million civil society development grant project in Armenia
The European Union and The Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) signed an appropriate agreement yesterday.
The aim of the project is to facilitate development of the civil society sector in Armenia.
Special attention will be paid to establishment of ties between experts of nongovernmental organizations of Armenia and Armenian communities worldwide and a wider involvement of the communities in the routine life of Armenia’s civil society.
The Armenian General Benevolent Union – AGBU, which operates in 30 countries, was established in Cairo in 1906. In the 1940s the head office was moved to New York. The AGBU supports Armenians worldwide by implementing cultural and humanitarian projects. --0---
