Median monthly gross salary in finance and insurance sector grew by 6.1% in September 2016
The median gross monthly salary in information and communication sectors was about 386,600 drams and 355,300 drams in the mining industry.
The lowest paid sectors were culture, entertainment and leisure - 113,200 drams, agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 118,900 drams, education - 122,600 drams, hotels and public catering - 127, 800 drams. In September 2016 the median gross monthly salary across the country was 187,439 drams, or about 1.4% more than in September 2015.
In 2016 September the highest median gross monthly salary was boasted by the southern province of Syunik - 216,600 drams, while the lowest paid region was the central province of Aragatsotn – 129,000 drams. In Yerevan, the median monthly gross salary was 200,400 drams.
According to preliminary estimates, the median gross monthly salary in January-October 2016 amounted to 185,689 drams ($386 or 26,117 Russian rubles), which was 2.4% more than in January-October 2015. Armenian Central Bank predicts a 3.7% rise in the median gross salary in 2017 ($ 1 - 480.92 drams). -0-
