Lebanese Migrants Are Heaps Pissed Off For Being Linked To Terror Charges
“Do Lebanese Muslim Australians really have to spend their entire lives being questioned and demonised?”
Lebanese migrants have started posting messages of pride and defiance after immigration minister Peter Dutton expressed regret that Australia had "let in" some people from Lebanon in the 1970s.
Dutton said Australia was now paying for immigration "mistakes" made by former Liberal prime minister Malcolm Fraser in the '70s, specifically pointing the finger at Australians with Lebanese heritage.
According to Dutton, the majority of people recently charged with terrorism-related offences had parents or grandparents born in Lebanon.
