Abuja-bound cars diverted as 3 die in Suleja fracas
– A mini-fracas in Suleja, Niger state has claimed three lives
– The town is just about one hour drive to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja
– Commuters going to Abuja had to divert to alternative routes
The Niger state police command has confirmed the death of three persons in a mini-fracas that ensued in Suleja yesterday, November 21.

The public relations officer of the command, ASP Bala Elkanah, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) today, November 22 in Minna that normalcy has being restored in the area.

His words: “A thieve who stole a handset stabbed the owner in the stomach when he was pursued. A mob that witnessed the act stabbed the thief back in retaliation.
“The patrol team of the police intervened quickly and took three persons with fatal injuries to the hospital. On reaching the hospital, all of them died unfortunately.
“So, we’ve restored normalcy and urged all residents to go about their normal businesses as we continue with our investigation towards finding the perpetrators of this heinous act.” he told NAN.
An eye witness however told NAN that some roads were diverted from the scene of the accident between the Emir Roundabout and the Police ‘B’ division by security personnel.
Commuters going to Abuja and other destinations have to divert to alternative routes this morning to get out of town.

Just a month ago, Zuwaira Musa, a mother of three and a 26 years old housewife was electrocuted at Unguwar Bayi, Suleja.
The incident happen while she was spreading her washed cloths on the rope and she touched a live cable that threw her to the ground.
