Ford quoted Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" when talking to Bernard.
HBOIn the episode's opening scene Bernard (who we learned last week is a host) is distraught over his murder of Theresa. While reassuring him, Ford quoted a line from "Frankenstein."
"One man's life or death were but a small price to pay for the acquirement of the knowledge which I sought, for the the dominion I should acquire," he said.
There are plenty of chilling parallels between Victor Frankenstein, Dr. Ford, and their potentially monstrous creations, making this quote especially apt.
One of Theresa's letters to Bernard revealed that he actually gifted her the lighter we always saw her using.
HBOBernard had to destroy all traces of his relationship with Theresa, including small love notes they had written to each other. One of them read:
Bernie, Thanks for the lovely lighter. A flame from my flame.
Yours, Theresa
This is a heartbreaking detail, knowing that each time Theresa had reached for her cigarettes and lighter she was thinking of her sweet, loving Bernard.
The woman who tricked Teddy and the Man in Black is the same host who greeted William.
HBOAngela (played by Talulah Riley) is a host who is part of Wyatt's crew. She trapped Teddy and the Man in Black by pretending to be a damsel in distress.
