UMAF conducts ophthalmic examination of schoolchildren of Syunik marz rural communities with support of ACBA CREDIT-AGRICOLE BANK

 With the support of ACBA CREDIT-AGRICOLE BANK, eight representatives of the Union of French Armenian Doctors (UMAF) have arrived in Armenia to conduct an ophthalmic examination of the schoolchildren of Syunik marz rural communities and the town of Sisian. The press office of the Bank has told ArmInfo that during the visit the UMAF doctors have examined over 500 children. 

UMAF President Levon Artinian says that the Union has been cooperating with the Bank for 20 years.  "Due to the support of ACBA CREDIT-AGRICOLE BANK, which did not hesitate to help us implement the program, 8 doctors of our group have arrived in Armenia with the relevant equipment to conduct eye examinations," he notes.    
The source says that over the past 13 years the UMAF members have been paying visits to Armenia twice a year. During their first visit (in May), UMAF representatives share their experience and eye care methodology for children with the country doctors. During their second visit (in August), they bring a great number of optical lens, laboratory and ophthalmic equipment, and in the course of examination they present them to children if needed.          

To note, the Union of French Armenian Doctors (UMAF) was founded in 1975. Initially, it included doctors of Armenian origin, who specialized in dental solutions, surgery, pharmacy, veterinary, biology, as well as students of various specialties.
