Review finds major deficiencies in contracts related to reception centres
The Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) was unable to adhere to certain practices of good governance and operations at the peak of last year's flow of asylum seekers to Finland, finds an internal review conducted by the Ministry of the Interior.
Migri, the review report acknowledges, faced a stern challenge in the second half of last year as the number of asylum seekers arriving in the country increased above expectations but coped commendably under the difficult circumstances and managed to ramp up its reception activities to the necessary extent under tight time constraints.
