Shavarsh Kocharyan: Lavrov will arrive in Armenia on a working visit, not to get answers to any questions
Foreign Minister of Russia will arrive in Armenia on a working visit, not to get answers to any questions, Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, told reporters on April 21.
In his words, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Russia will be discussing a broad spectrum of issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda. "Naturally, they will dwell upon the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement considering the recent escalation of the conflict," the deputy minister said.
On the invitation of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Yerevan on April 21-22.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a joint briefing with his Azerbaijani and Iranian counterparts in Baku on April 7 almost all components of the Karabakh conflict settlement agreement are on the table. He said that Russia is most of all interested in the settlement of the conflict. He added that sooner resolution of the conflict stems from all parties' interests. Given the explosive situation, all parties should speed up efforts towards political resolution of the conflict.
