Ramkavar-Azatakan" (Liberal-Democratic) Party of Armenia seeks to run for parliament in 2017, the Party Leader Hakob Avetikyan said in response to ArmInfo's question.
He said the Party will participate in the elections to the local self-government in some regions where it has influence. "This will be the first step to the parliamentary elections," he said. Nevertheless, Avetikyan could not evaluate his Party's chances for victory.
Hakob Vardivaryan, a representative of the Party, editor-in-chief of The Armenian Mirror-Spectator, in turn, said the Party has reunited and is ready to contribute to the development of the motherland. "We have already urged our party-men to start investing in the economy of Armenia. In addition, the headquarters of our Party will be located in Yerevan for two years to coordinate the activities aimed at the development of Armenia and Artsakh," Vardivaryan said.
Another member of the "Ramkavar-Azatakan" Party Yervand Azatyan believes that to confront the enemy, a strong country with strong parties is needed. In this light, he said that the Party's recent congress during the days of the "four-day war" in Nagorno Karabakh brought together 63 representatives of 12 countries and a decision was adopted to help strengthening the Armenian statehood.
