Armenia’s secession from EEU inadvisable now – minister
Armenia’s Minister of Economy Artsvik Minasyan commented on a bill on Armenia’s secession from the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) by Armenian MP Khachatur Kokobelyan.
“As Armenia’s minister of economy I do not see any advisability now,” he said.
Such messages may cause confusion in economic processes. Therefore, it is most important that such a policy be developed inside the country before being submitted to the public.
“Any policy influences economy as it develops certain expectations. As a person responsible for the government’s economic bloc, I don’t think there is any necessity to do that,” he added.
Mr Minasyan said he hasn’t seen any benefits for Armenia from the Eurasian integration. “We would better think what mechanisms to apply to realize the potentials. We will discuss them once they are exhausted,” he said.
