The Navy has launched 25 gunboats to tackle kidnapping and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta region.
The army has warned militants groups to steer clear of pipeline vandalism and destruction of critical national assets in the Niger Delta.

The Naval chief called the public to cooperate with security agencies by informing them about activities of kidnappers.
He described the cooperation between security agencies and public as essential because kidnappers operate on land, live among people and return to the creeks with their victims.
He said the boats will help address some of the security challenges experienced in the Niger Delta region.
Likewise, commander JFT Major-General Alani Gafar Okunlola has issued warning to groups threatening to attack oil and gas facilities in the region.
Meanwhile, ex-militant leader, Ebikamowei Victor Ben, alias Boyloaf, has warned politicians that any attempt to hijack the amnesty programme from the special adviser to the president on Niger Delta, Gen. Paul Boroh would trigger another round of avoidable crisis in the Niger Delta region.
According to Vanguard, Boyloaf in a release in Abuja raised concern about an alleged plot being made by some politicians to destabilise the gains made by the leadership of the programme.
