– The Dutch ambassador to Nigeria John Groffen has spoken out about the deepening links between the two countries.
– He revealed that 60 scholarships are available to Nigerians every year for them to study in the Netherlands.
– Groffen went on to reveal that several Dutch companies are interested in deepening trade ties with Nigeria.
The Envoy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Nigeria, John Groffen, has announced that 60 Nigerians benefited from the scholarships of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) last year.
Mr. Groffen, who was speaking in Lagos, said that the NFP scholarships had afforded the Nigerian beneficiaries the opportunity to study in different educational institutions of high quality in the Netherlands.
“We have a Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP), which enables Nigerians to study in the Netherlands,” he said.
“In 2015, more than 60 Nigerians benefited from our scholarship programme under the NFP, which enabled them to study in the Netherlands.’’

The envoy expressed his satisfaction at the increased number of educational and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and the Netherlands.
Mr. Groffen said that his government was looking forward to future cooperation with Nigeria in the area of educational exchanges.
He also said that there are currently about 30 Dutch companies operating in different parts of Nigeria and that many more have shown an interest in coming to invest and do business in the West African country.

According to him, some Dutch companies are still making inquiries about the current legal framework, government and central bank policies, as well as Nigeria’s overall favourable investment environment.
Mr. Groffen went on to add that it was imperative for the Nigerian government to create an appropriate environment that would attract more foreign investments to Nigeria.
