Siena basketball turns around to play Fairfield
The Siena men's basketball team spent most of practice on Tuesday watching what went wrong in the 87-81 loss to Iona the night before.
The Saints gathered in the locker room and reviewed video of the first four minutes and the last four minutes, which coach Jimmy Patsos felt were keys to the team's downfall.
The Saints turn around quickly to play on Wednesday at Fairfield, a team whose five-game winning streak is the longest active one in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Gilbert and a young supporting cast have helped the Stags (17-11 overall, 11-7 league) overachieve after being picked eighth in the MAAC preseason coaches' poll.
"[...] I'm glad we're playing," Patsos said.
In that matchup, the Saints took advantage of Fairfield's four-guard lineup by battering the Stags inside.
Bisping had a career-high 28 points and eight rebounds, junior forward Javion Ogunyemi added 19 points and junior forward/guard Lavon Long contributed a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
"[...] half, I was kind of going again," Wright said.
