In this spirit, today we're highlighting Armogan Watches' Spirit of St. Louis collection, which is sure to impress any history buffs. According to its website, these sharp-looking chronographs "[have] been inspired by this famous custom-built, single engine, single-seat monoplane that was flown solo by Charles Lindbergh on May 20, 1927, on the first non-stop flight from New York to Paris."
The collection's rich backstory is further enhanced by its exquisite design, which brings the classic, handsome look of the 1920's to present day. Each timepiece features cockpit-legible dials, Japanese chronograph movements, and, for a modern touch, suede leather straps.
If we had to choose, the emerald-green-face model is our favorite of all of them, but white-, black-, and navy-face versions of the watch are available to shop as well. You can grab one for a hair under $200 at Huckberry (the retailer may prompt you to sign up for a free membership first) or $230 at Amazon.
All told, the overall look of these watches make them appropriate for most any occasion, and their price is difficult to resist, especially if you've been eyeing Shinola's aesthetically similar, but much pricier The Runwell Chrono series. (For something cheaper still, you can look into Seiko's SNDC33 model.)
