"Strong Armenia" presents Samvel Karapetyan`s economic and defense programs to Agarak residents
ArmInfo. The "Strong Armenia" party presented the economic and defense programs of future Armenian Prime Minister Samvel Karapetyan to the residents of Agarak, Syunik Province.
During a meeting with Agarak residents, Narek Karapetyan, a member of the party's political council, stated that it is up to Armenian society to decide what future it wants for the country. "Do we want a secure country, or do we want to open a door that will bring us even more headaches in the future? Do we want a balanced, serious leader in our country, or someone who gives the world press a reason to laugh at us every day? Look at what our neighbors are doing. The Turks are developing their navy, upgrading their technology, opening a road to China. And what are the Azerbaijanis doing? They're establishing ties with Turkey, seeking a road, developing their economy, building up their military, and constructing ports on the Caspian Sea. And what are we doing? We're eating corn. What are we doing amid these serious global changes?" Narek Karapetyan questioned at a meeting with supporters.
He then addressed why a successful businessman like Samvel Karapetyan decided to enter the political fray now. According to Narek Karapetyan, the decision stems from a refusal to remain a "bystander" while national institutions such as the Armenian Apostolic Church face pressure; economic mismanagement leads to a ballooning national debt and sovereignty is threatened by demographic and territorial challenges.
"The above facts demonstrate an interesting pattern: the manager is not in control of the situation, and the manager needs to be replaced," Narek Karapetyan emphasized, concluding that a citizen of a strong Armenia will not be a citizen of a poor country.
