Armenia`s Anti-Corruption Committee to establish operational staff to monitor electoral processes
ArmInfo. Ahead of the National Assembly elections scheduled for June 7, 2026, a board meeting chaired by Anti-Corruption Committee Chairman Artur Nahapetyan was held to discuss the committee's functions in the lead-up to the upcoming elections and existing challenges.
The agenda included issues related to the establishment of an operational staff to monitor electoral processes, defining the committee's functions to counter hybrid threats, coordinating the complementary activities of investigative and operational units, planning upcoming events, and enhancing the professional training of staff in identifying, solving, and investigating election crimes.
The committee chairman was briefed on the current status of the committee's work, and a list of existing challenges and upcoming events was compiled. Following the discussions, Artur Nahapetyan gave clear instructions regarding the timeframe for the formation of an operational staff to monitor electoral processes, determining its composition and operating procedures, and specifying the tools and resources to be used to counter hybrid threats. Additionally, instructions were given for the systematic planning of the investigative and operational departments.
During the meeting, the committee's active role in ensuring the transparency and legality of electoral processes, as well as effective coordination of actions to ensure a prompt and consistent response to existing risks, was emphasized.
