Renault India is gearing up for a major expansion, with plans to introduce five new models over the next two years. The French automaker aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian market by focusing on SUVs, facelifts, and electrification.

Which Renault models are expected?

The upcoming lineup includes two brand-new models, two facelifts of existing cars, and an electric vehicle. Renault has confirmed that all these vehicles will be designed and manufactured in India, reinforcing its commitment to local production.

One of the most anticipated launches is the new-generation Renault Duster. Based on the CMF-B platform, the SUV will feature a rugged design with Y-shaped LED DRLs, large alloy wheels, and a muscular stance. It will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The Duster will be offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit, both available with manual and automatic transmissions.

Renault will also introduce the Bigster, a seven-seater version of the Duster. The Bigster will share its platform and design elements with the Duster but will offer more space and practicality. It will rival the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar.

Renault Facelifts

The facelifted Renault Triber and Kiger will also be part of the lineup. The Triber, Renault’s affordable seven-seater MPV, will receive cosmetic updates, a refreshed dashboard, and possibly a new turbo-petrol engine. The Kiger, Renault’s subcompact SUV, will get sharper LED headlights, new alloy wheels, and an updated interior with better materials and tech features.

Renault’s upcoming EV remains a mystery, but reports suggest it could be a locally developed model positioned in the premium electric SUV segment. The company aims to compete with the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.
