UFC: As real as it gets or phony as baloney?
It’s so nice to have fans that Dana can count on to sing his praises even as he shits all over them. Please sir, can I have some more? Yes, he’s very lucky for fans who will take what he says as the gospel and then go around like talking parrots, telling anyone who will listen to what Daddy Dana says without questioning it.

I see the same old fighters being re-run. Belfort - Henderson, really? I see the UFC being unable to attract any hardly any decent athletes to apply for a job in the heavyweight division.
Once upon a time, for a very short time maybe, it might have been true that MMA could be called "the fastest growing sport." Thanks to Daddy Dana, it’s devolving into a fringe circus act that appeals mostly to the WWE groupies. MMA news very seldom even makes the mainstream sports pages, thanks to the direction this maniac is taking the sport.
For my money, his unpredictable behavior suggests someone with an acute drug or alcohol problem. But not everyone can see this. There’s always those who will mindlessly repeat Dana’s mantras: We’re the fastest growing sport in the world! Do tell.
For the record, I love the sport of MMA and I’ve been a jiu-jitsu practitioner for many years. My beef is with the UFC leadership and the direction they’re taking the sport.
Many fighters are wising up. They see the writing on the wall, like the story of the young man below who chose a career in the health profession over what the UFC has to offer; a career in show business. One statistic you'll never see are how many great young athletes this sport has lost because they have seen and heard about the antics of Dana White. You will never know how many potential greats have asked themselves, "Who needs this?" They quietly choose other paths.
