Elisabeth Moss Wants a West Wing Reunion, Is Open to a Mad Men Spinoff

Zoey Bartlet, all grown up?! Former child star Elisabeth Moss revealed on HuffPost Live on Thursday, Aug. 20, that she would be open to a West Wing reunion, and a possible Mad Men spinoff.

Moss, 33, starred as President Bartlet (Martin Sheen)'s angsty teenage daughter, Zoey, in Aaron Sorkin's Emmy-winning political drama, which aired from 1999 to 2006. "It was pretty special, honestly," Moss recalled of starring in the series. "I was 17 when I started that show, and I did the last episode right before we did the pilot for Mad Men. I was 23."

The Queen of Earth actress gave a shout-out to The Newsroom creator Sorkin for the snappy dialogue he penned for his West Wing characters. "I mean, you couldn't get over the writing," Moss gushed. "To be able to work with Aaron Sorkin — I didn't think I was young then, and looking back now.... working with these incredible actors, I learned so much from being around them about professionalism and timing and comedic timing. It was like my acting school, that show. And it was fun!"

Moss said the casts from both The West Wing and Mad Men taught her some key rules when acting: to be professional and to have fun. "Both shows were with some of the funniest people I had ever met," she gushed. When asked about the possibility of a 10-year-reunion (The West Wing ended in 2006), Moss replied that she would totally be down. "I have no control over those things," she humbly replied. "I hope that there's some sort of reunion and I'll get to go!"

Moss was also asked about her subsequent smash series Mad Men, which ended this past spring, and the possibility of a spinoff series with her character, Peggy. "I think this would be interesting," she noted of a story line that was centered on "the continuation of the work-life balance."

"I find that fascinating for men and women," she noted. "People can't quite figure out, and I think that that the idea of a woman being successful and in love and trying to balance those two is quite interesting."
