Saudi authorities informed private companies in Saudi Arabia who give employment to ensure that they provide health insurance plan to all their employees to avoid facing penalties. The Saudi Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) has stressed that Saudi arabian companies that do not provide health insurance plan to Saudi and non-Saudi foreign employees and their family members will be subject to the “suspension of services” in coordination with the ministry of Labour and Social Development. They will also be required to pay a fine equal to the value of insurance for each individual. All private sector companies in Saudi Arabia who provide employment for foreigners are required to provide health insurance coverage to their Saudi and expat employees as well as their dependants – including spouse, unmarried daughters and male children under the age of 25 in order for them to claim their medical expenses.
