Jose Canseco, Dallas Braden among A’s studio analysts
Former A’s slugger Jose Canseco, known for his outlandish comments and knack for controversy, will be named as an A’s studio analyst Monday, the team’s director of broadcasting, Ken Pries, confirmed.
Braden, who pitched the 19th perfect game in major-league history in 2010, is an ESPN “Baseball Tonight” studio analyst in addition to the work he’ll do for NBC California, the regional network that carries Oakland’s games.
[...] color announcer Mark Mulder’s role will expand from 20 games last year to 30 this year.
NBC California, formerly CSN California, will have hour-long pre- and post-game shows, so the team and network are adding more analysts to handle the extra workload and focused on big personalities.
Canseco, certainly, could make for some big ratings even at the potential risk of some FCC violations.
