Pipkins hits 8 3s, scores 27; UMass beats Kennesaw St 95-77
AMHERST, Mass. — Luwane Pipkins tied a school record with eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 27 points, Dejon Jarreau added 17 points and five assists and UMass pulled away for a 95-77 win over Kennesaw State on Saturday.
Rashaan Holloway had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, Donte Clark scored 11 with six assists and Tyrn Flowers added 10 points.
Kendrick Ray’s 3-point play pulled Kennesaw State (3-8) within six with 9:23 to play, but Holloway had a dunk and Pipkins converted a 3-point play — both on assists by Clark — to make it 74-63 31 seconds later.
