Morning Joe Airs GE Ad: 'Mom And Dad Are Trump Voters!'
Did Joe Scarborough lose a bet? Owe a favor? Or is he doing some sort of social experiment to see if we would notice that he just aired an advertisement for General Electric on his cable news show because he can do anything he wants?
And now that it's perfectly normal for a Republican President to never show his tax returns or business interests, we can be sure Joe Scarborough can pull this kind of shite any time he wants without letting his audience know how many shares of GE he or his network presidents own.
The ad was aired in its entirety (I wouldn't clip it because unlike Joe Scarborough, I am totally willing to tell you I don't own any GE stock because war and since they aren't C&L advertisers, screw 'em) under the pretense that Joe wanted to illustrate the culture war between Trump voters and those "Vox writers" who voted not Trump.
SCARBOROUGH: The guy on the couch, the mom, they're from Oshkosh. They voted for Trump. And the son is sitting down, writes for Vox, and he thinks that people going and booing people is a noble thing to do and upholds the First Amendment.
MIKA BREZINSKI: That's so good!
SCARBOROUGH: Will you confirm the people on the couch are the reason Donald Trump will be president?
