Nigeria’s sensation at the Rio Olympics, Oghenekaro Etebo has a 50/50 chance to feature against Denmark in a quarterfinal game on Saturday night, August 13.
This follows a report on Goal.com that the 20-year-old may be fit enough to face Denmark.
A Nigeria official told the sports news medium, that Etebo stands a chance to play against the Scandinavians, despite reports that he is nursing a hamstring injury.
The attacking midfielder was pulled out during Dream Team VI’s 2-0 defeat to Colombia in the 82nd minute, forcing speculation that he could miss the quarter final showdown against the Danish team.

However, medics have said he could be feature billed for Salvador.

“The team doctor (Sam Ogbondeminu) has not rested since Etebo got injured against Colombia. He has been working round the clock to ensure the player is available for selection on Saturday.
“Coach Siasia believes Etebo is a strong character whose rating is very high. So we are confident he will be back in action.
“As it is now, the chance of the player featuring against Denmark tomorrow is 50-50, but the final say lies with the doctor because if Etebo is certified fit, it would be a great news for entire team,” the official told Goal.com.
Etebo has scored four goals at the Rio Olympics men’s football competition.
He will be hoping to make a return against Denmark in the match billed to hold at the Fonte Nova Arena in Salvador.
The clash between Nigeria and Denmark will be the second meeting between the teams in the space of two months.
Emil Larsen netted three times to ensure Denmark thumped Nigeria 6-2 in the Suwon tournament in South Korea in June.
