Toddler dies a day after fall from 3rd-floor Foster City window
The toddler was looking through an open window at his family’s apartment complex Thursday morning and tumbled through the screen, said Capt.Tracy Avelar, a Foster City police spokeswoman.
“It is with heavy hearts that we confirm the passing of yesterday’s fall victim,” the department said in a statement.
Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the young boy succumbed to his injuries last night.
Firefighters were called to the Water’s Edge Apartments on East Hillsdale Boulevard at 8:19 a.m. for a medical call, said Battalion Chief Chuck Goodwin of the fire department.
Officials learned en route to the scene that the boy had fallen, prompting them to call in another fire unit and a medical helicopter, Goodwin said.
