Letter reveals government's earlier reaction to UVa probe
The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/1oNmAMC ) reports officials last year concluded the university had "abdicated" its legal responsibility to act on reports of sexual violence within the school's powerful Greek system and took a "hands off" approach.
The criticism was part of a 39-page letter sent to university officials on Aug. 31, presenting the findings of a four-year-long investigation done by the U.S. Education Department Office for Civil Rights.
