Mantovani said that when the project is completed, it will give people access to potable water.
According to him, the Ekiti state government would contribute $5 million as a counterpart fund towards the project.
In his remark, Governor Ayodele Fayose described the project as a welcome development, while adding that the World Bank team would need to carry the state government along while executing the project.
The governor lamented the poor state of major dams in the state, but promised that his government would do everything within its capacity to engage in developmental projects that would positively impact on the lives of the Ekiti people.
Before meeting the governor at the Government House, the World Bank team had earlier visited Ero and Ureje dams in the state to get a first hand assessment of the dams, as they plan how to make them functional again.
