Kazakhstan experienced the hottest summer on record
Tengrinews.kz – Summer 2026 became the hottest in Kazakhstan for the entire period of meteorological observations, citing Kazhydromet. The average seasonal air temperature was 2.15 degrees above the climate norm.
Temperature exceeded the norm by 2.15 degrees
Positive temperature anomalies were observed across most of Kazakhstan.
The most noticeable exceedance of the climate norm was recorded in the east of Akmola and Karaganda regions, in Pavlodar Region, across most of East Kazakhstan Region and Abai Region.
The maximum positive deviation was +4 degrees. This anomaly was recorded at the Bes-Oba weather station in Karaganda Region.
Precipitation was below normal
At the same time, summer 2026 was notable not only for high temperatures. The amount of precipitation was 7.12 millimeters below the climate norm.
Precipitation was distributed unevenly across the country, with amounts varying significantly from region to region.
What October will be like in Kazakhstan
Earlier, forecasters shared the weather forecast for October in Kazakhstan. Relatively warm weather is expected in several regions at the beginning of the month, but the temperature pattern will then begin to change. In some regions, forecasters predict colder weather, rain and wet snow.
