Aktau residents alarmed by earthquake rumor

Tengrinews.kz — A message is circulating on social media about an alleged upcoming earthquake in Aktau. The Mangystau Region Public Communications Center commented on the information, according to Lada.kz.
According to the agency, during monitoring of the internet, a TikTok video containing false information about possible tremors was discovered. There is no official confirmation of this information.
The Mangystau Region Department of Emergency Situations emphasized that residents have no reason to worry.

“Such information frightens the public, creates unjustified panic in society, and constitutes the spread of knowingly false information,” the statement said.

The regional authorities urged citizens not to spread unverified messages and to rely only on official sources of information.
