Tokayev instructs the government and NSC on migration issues
Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting at the Prosecutor General’s Office, where he emphasized the importance of full digitalization in the field of migration regulation.
Tokayev noted that comprehensive digitalization of migration governance is urgently needed.
“This is indeed an extremely pressing issue that we have been discussing for quite some time, but positive progress remains limited. The global situation is complicated. It can be stated with confidence that migration flows are increasing across the world,” he said.
The Head of State stressed that under these conditions, Kazakhstan is becoming a convenient transit hub and an attractive country for long-term residence by foreign migrants.
“In this regard, the priority task is to modernize systems for temporary registration and monitoring the movement of foreign citizens in order to ensure effective migration control. I instruct the government, together with the National Security Committee, to accelerate work in this area,” Tokayev said.
