Hong Kong — For HK$588, Filipino expats and foreign guests in Hong Kong got a taste of Filipino cuisine at the first Cross Cultures event held in the city July 13 and 14. The brainchild of lifestyle journalist Cheryl Tiu, Cross Cultures is an events platform that aims to introduce a country by way of its cuisine. Held at the Filipino-owned restaurant 42nd Davis in the bustling Kennedy Town area, the wildly successful dining event featured gustatory delights whipped up by Filipino chefs based in this city. On the menu were chicken wings inasal, beef tapa, and pork chicharon, and especially flown in from the Philippines, the famed Pepita’s Lechon with Truffle Rice by Dedet de la Fuente.
