Sometime next month, the world’s pioneer in advocating action against climate change, former United States Vice President Al Gore, is visiting the Philippines as part of a worldwide effort to get governments and nations to meet the serious environmental issues arising out of global warming. Gore , founder of two activist organizations that consolidated into the Climate Reality Project, will be here to train a group of “climate reality leaders” who will, in turn educate their communities on the adverse effects of climate change. His visit should inspire more Filipinos to be aware of the threat faced by the world today from melting polar ice and rising sea levels, more devastating storms and floods, and other forms of extreme weather.
