Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and NVIDIA Vice President discuss cooperation prospects
Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with NVIDIA Vice President Rev Lebaredian. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and computing infrastructure, according to the Akorda press service.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that NVIDIA plays one of the key roles in shaping the global artificial intelligence ecosystem. He emphasized the importance of expanding the practical use of AI in priority sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy.
Note: NVIDIA is a U.S. technology company and a global leader in the development of graphics processing units (GPUs) and systems on a chip (SoCs). Originally known for producing graphics cards for video games and professional graphics, including the GeForce line, the company has become a major player in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and data centers. NVIDIA chips and its CUDA software platform provide the hardware foundation for training and operating some of the world’s largest neural networks and AI systems.
The parties noted that mutually beneficial cooperation has already developed a solid practical foundation. In particular, two supercomputing clusters based on NVIDIA technologies have been launched in Kazakhstan.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Data Center Valley project in Ekibastuz. The project envisages the creation of computing infrastructure with a capacity of around 300 MW, with the possibility of further expansion to 1 GW.
The President emphasized the importance of agreements reached with NVIDIA and Firebird for the successful implementation of the project.
For his part, Rev Lebaredian praised the progress being made in developing Kazakhstan’s artificial intelligence infrastructure and outlined NVIDIA’s plans to participate in the next stage of the Data Center Valley project.
