Kazakhstanis earn nearly 100 million tenge from TikTok livestreams and get 4 years in prison
Tengrinews.kz - In the Zhetysu Region, four residents organized illegal gambling during TikTok livestreams and earned 95 million tenge from the activity. According to the pre-trial investigation, the four residents of the region hosted livestreams on TikTok featuring illegal card games. One of the participants was a minor at the time of the offense.
As a result of the activity, they received illegal income totaling 95 million tenge.
Court sentences each to four years
Following the trial, all four were found guilty under Part 3 of Article 307 of Kazakhstan’s Criminal Code — “Organizing an illegal gambling business.”The court sentenced each of them to four years in prison with confiscation of property.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
