Autumn to begin with frost: Kazakhstan weather forecast for September 1–2
Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet forecasters have issued the weather forecast for September 1, 2 and 3.
The first days of calendar autumn will bring contrasting weather to Kazakhstan. Frost is expected in some northern areas at night, while daytime temperatures will gradually rise. At the same time, rain, thunderstorms and sleet are forecast in several regions.
Where frost is expected
On September 1–2, most of Kazakhstan will be under the influence of a large northern anticyclone. Mainly dry weather with little cloud cover is expected. However, nighttime frost of up to -3°C is forecast in some northern areas.
In the northwest, north, east and central parts of the country, nighttime temperatures will fall to 0…+5°C, with frost down to -3°C possible in some areas. Ground temperatures in parts of the northwest may drop to -1°C.
It will become noticeably warmer during the day in these regions, with temperatures gradually rising.
Rain, sleet and thunderstorms
On September 1–2, rain and sleet are expected at night in northern, eastern and central Kazakhstan under the influence of a trough associated with a northern cyclone and its atmospheric fronts. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast during the day.
Heavy rain with thunderstorms and hail is expected in the mountainous areas of Almaty Region.
Strong winds are also forecast in the north, east, south and southeast of the country. Fog may develop in some areas of the northwest, north and east during the night and morning hours.
Where warm weather will persist
In western Kazakhstan, nighttime temperatures will range from +10 to +18°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +25…+30°C before rising to +28…+33°C.
It will be even warmer in Mangystau Region. Temperatures of +13…+21°C are expected at night, while daytime temperatures will rise from +27…+32°C to +30…+35°C.
In the southern regions, nighttime temperatures will gradually fall from +13…+18°C to +10…+15°C. In mountainous areas, temperatures may drop to +3…+8°C.
Daytime temperatures in the south are expected to be around +18…+23°C, while mountainous areas will see +7…+12°C.
