The cause of eGov and other government service outages has been named
Kazakhstani citizens have reported issues accessing the eGov.kz portal. National Information Technologies (NIT) has commented on the situation.
"App frozen"
On August 21, Kazakhstanis once again faced issues accessing eGov.kz. This time, the glitch occurred within the eGov Mobile app. Users reported that the application had frozen, preventing them from accessing electronic government services.
Note: eGov is the official electronic portal through which citizens and organizations can access government services online, including obtaining various certificates and documents without visiting Public Service Centers (PSCs).

Response from NIT JSC
Meanwhile, National Information Technologies (NIT) JSC has commented on the situation.
"Due to increased external internet traffic activity, Kazakhstan's internet protection mechanisms were triggered, resulting in temporary unavailability of certain government websites. These protection mechanisms responded to the external activity in a timely manner and ensured the security of the national digital infrastructure," NIT explained.
The company also noted that traffic has now been restored, and access to resources is functioning as normal.
"Specialists continue to monitor the situation and work to ensure stable access to digital services. All systems and infrastructure of NIT JSC are functioning normally. We do not confirm any information regarding technical failures," National Information Technologies JSC stated.
As a reminder, in early August, users also noted disruptions in the portal's operation: for some, the site would not open, while for others, pages took a long time to load or displayed errors when attempting to use government services. At that time, NIT reported that the disruptions were due to portal updates.
Earlier, following the launch of eGov 3.0, many Kazakhstanis criticized the portal's new interface. Users complained specifically about small font sizes, an unfamiliar layout of sections, and difficulties in finding the required services.
