The £45 million signing has made seven goal contributions from under 800 minutes this term.

Jesus came on as a regular substitute for Viktor Gyokeres on his return from a long-term knee injury and has started a couple of league games.

However, his playing time has drastically reduced ever since the 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the road in February.

Jesus has been a regular unused substitute, and this has probably urged him to consider his future with the Gunners beyond the ongoing season.

Judging by UOL’s report, Arsenal may have proposed a renewal with a pay cut, but the versatile forward does not see his future with the Gunners.

In that case, the hierarchy must seek to cut their losses on Jesus in the next transfer window.

Jesus recently switched to the agency of Italian representative Giovanni Branchini, who has the majority of his clients plying their trade in Serie A.

This suggests that the former Manchester City man could be eyeing a move to Italy.

Arsenal were touted to sell Jesus for around £17.4 million earlier this year. That would be a decent fee for a striker who would suit Italian football.

Jesus’ good work rate and mobility would be an ideal fit in Serie A, which is generally more tactical and less intense than the Premier League.

The Gunners must ensure that the Brazilian is sold this summer if he does not renew, as he can sign a pre-contract for a free transfer next winter.
