Arsenal are "investigating" deal for £59m winger to elevate level of squad
Arsenal are likely to reinforce the forward department during the summer transfer window.
The Gunners signed Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres to add more quality to their forward ranks last summer.
There could be more activity at the end of the season, but it could coincide with some high-profile players heading for the exit door.
Arsenal are planning sales before the Premier League’s financial shift to the Squad Cost Ratio rule for the 2026/27 season and onwards.
The Independent now claim that the Gunners are ‘investigating’ a potential move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is presently at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Georgian star is seen as a player who can add more individual creativity and ‘elevate the level of the squad’ ahead of next season.
The player’s camp are understood to be open to the idea, but a deal could be difficult with PSG viewing him as a near-unsellable star.
Kvaratskhelia would be an outstanding signing
The 25-year-old signed for Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli for an initial £59 million in January last year and has proved a revelation.
The versatile winger played a big part in PSG lifting their maiden Champions League title, and they could repeat the feat this campaign.
Kvaratskhelia has just seven goal contributions from 1,159 minutes in Ligue 1 this term, but he has looked a class apart in Europe so far.
The Georgian has 11 goal involvements in just 700 minutes and recently scored three times in the 8-2 aggregate win over Chelsea in the last 16.
Kvaratskhelia is obviously a player with immense individual quality. He can dribble comfortably from either flank and has no notable weakness.
Arsenal may see him as a potential starter on the left wing. It could mean Leandro Trossard and potentially Gabriel Martinelli heading out.
Gabriel Jesus could also be offloaded with his contract expiring next year.
The Gunners should have the funds to break the bank for Kvaratskhelia, but convincing PSG to part with one of their most prized assets could be difficult.
Unless the player pushes for an exit himself, Arsenal are unlikely to secure his signature this summer.
