Gary Neville makes his prediction for Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has made his prediction for Saturday’s Premier League clash between Nottingham Forest and Arsenal at the City Ground.
The Gunners could not extend their five-match winning league streak last week after a goalless draw against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
The reigning champions dominated possession in the second half of the contest, but they did not muster a single shot on target over the entire game.
Arsenal are still six points ahead of Manchester City and Aston Villa at the top of the standings, and could get another chance to extend the lead.
Ahead of Saturday’s late kick-off against Forest on the road, Neville has backed the Gunners to pick up a slender victory over Sean Dyche’s side.
Speaking on The Overlap, Neville said: “1-0 to Arsenal”.
The Gunners have had a fantastic first half to the league season, and they hold a solid six-point advantage over Man City and Villa, who have dropped points in recent weeks.
City and Villa face Manchester United and Everton respectively this weekend. The former make the trip to Old Trafford, and it could be another tricky game for Pep Guardiola’s men.
On paper, the Cityzens are favourites to beat United, but the Red Devils have a new interim manager in Michael Carrick, and they will be determined to dampen City’s title pursuit.
Arsenal have a good recent record against Forest with four wins and one draw. The stalemate came last season, and the Gunners will seek to come on the winning side this time.
The London giants have been picking up wins in games where they dropped points last term. It won’t be easy at Forest. As Neville predicted, a slender victory could be on the cards.
