Sam Burns, Wife Caroline Campbell Receive Life-Changing News
When Sam Burns' wife, Caroline Campbell, gave birth to their first child, a son named Bear, it was big news. And history may be repeating itself.
"World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is notably absent from the field this week at the Wells Fargo Championship, staying at home with wife Meredith in anticipation of the birth of their first child. But one new dad is back inside the ropes this week at Quail Hollow: Sam Burns," the PGA Tour wrote in 2024. Many news stories described how Scheffler's and Burns' personal lives seemed to parallel each other.
"Burns played a nine-hole pro-am Wednesday morning in the Queen City and confirmed the arrival of his son, Bear, on April 22. The baby arrived shortly after Burns wrapped up a T44 finish at the RBC Heritage, and he shared that the unique name was (mostly) his idea," wrote the PGA Tour.
Now, as Burns competes in the 2026 masters, there's a new report that a second baby is on the way, and that comes after Scheffler also became a father again. Burns was battling for first place against Rory McIlroy on April 10. He is a 29-year-old professional golfer from Shreveport, LA. He has five PGA tour wins and more than $35 million in career earnings.

Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis was outlining the similarities between Scheffler and Burns when he suddenly revealed the big news.
(Sam) has learned a lot from Scottie, especially in practice rounds,” Lewis said, according to Heavy.com. “They kind of mimic each others’ lives. Scottie, this last month, he and his wife Meredith, had their second child, a boy."
“Caroline, Sam Burns’ wife, well, they’re about to have their second child as well, and they already have a boy. His name is Bear. We will find out in July when the baby is born," he added.

Burns has gushed about his wife on Instagram. "Happy 2 years to my bride! I couldn’t imagine doing life without you. Here’s to many more memories together with the most beautiful person I know inside and out. I love you, Caroline Burns!" he wrote in 2021, sharing a wedding photo.
In 2025, he shared a photo showing him walking on a golf course with Bear. He has also shared photos showing him with his wife at events.
According to People, Burns met his wife at church when they were 5 years old.

He told WJCL that he always "kind of knew" Campbell was the one. “I hope that we'll have many years together and grow old together and get to enjoy a lot of fun things together,” he said in that interview.
In 2020, Burns shared a photo showing his future wife dancing with him and wrote, "24 never looked so good! Happy Birthday love."
"Married the woman of my dreams, and we couldn’t be happier!" he wrote in 2019, sharing a photo from their wedding.
Other photos show the couple in front of private jets.
