This Affordable Timex Dive Watch Just Got Way More Interesting

Affordable dive watches are having a moment—but few balance price, durability, and style like Timex. The Timex Deepwater Arctic takes the brand’s proven Deepwater platform and refines it with a more compact case, vintage-inspired dial, and upgraded bracelet. The result is a sub-$300 diver that looks and feels far more elevated than its price suggests.

Details make the design, and in watchmaking small changes can create an entirely different timepiece. The most obvious change—baton indices and Arabic numerals at the quarter hours replace the round markers found on other Deepwater models. The shift in dial details adds a touch of vintage character and dynamism. To boot, the numbers build depth on the dial, clarify time telling and help transform the Deepwater Arctic into an altogether different watch.

For more retro vibes, Timex has slimmed down the stainless steel case to 40.5mm. Twin brushed and polished finishes lend the metal a visual dialectic that creates a subtle light play. A screw-down crown and screw-down case back bolster the watch’s seals and help it achieve 200 meters of water resistance.

Available in three flavors, the black and blue dial versions are outfitted with matching ceramic, unidirectional, dive scale bezels, while the two-tone model offers extra flourish with a brown bezel with a black dial. Inside the time-only watch runs on a battery-powered quartz movement. 

Adding to the metamorphosis, Timex is offering all three versions on a 5-link, jubilee-style, stainless-steel bracelet. The wrist wrap features quick-release spring bars and is secured by a butterfly double deployant clasp that folds inward creating a seamless, unified look.

The Deepwater Arctic is available now at timex.com. The black and blue models retail for $299 and the two-tone version is available for $319.
