The Oncai Hiking Sandals are now just $36 on Amazon. When you look at Amazon’s bestselling outdoor sandals and slides, the closest things you’re going to see to the Oncai hikers are the Keen Newport H2 and Teva Hurricane XLT2, priced at $77 and $55, respectively, and that's the lowest rate on each page (they're normally more expensive). Each of those styles is a huge player in the outdoor sandal world, already favored by many consumers, but at $36, the Oncai hikers are more than worthy of consideration, and they come with one big differentiator.

Oncai built its hiking sandal with a breathable mesh upper that’s porous enough to dry quickly and not get too heavy from water. Over this mesh is a hook and loop with a buckle closure. Part of it uses the Velcro-inspired straps you’re used to. What’s different about this shoe is that these straps go around a buckle, which is the part that actually holds the shoe tight. The effect? A sandal that feels the same every time you put it on.
Beyond that, this is a max-cushion sandal, much like you'd see on a pair of Hoka running shoes. When worn, the shoe has good arch support and a curved bottom that makes for a more rolling stride. While wet sand and muddy paths won’t necessarily take advantage of this, you’ll notice it every time you walk on wooden decks and cement sidewalks.
