Ending Racial Preferences: DOJ Investigates Medical Schools Over Race In Admissions

According to a report in Campus Reform, “Federal officials are investigating whether top medical schools are complying with a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that prohibits the use of race in admissions decisions.”

Specifically Stanford, Ohio and University of California San Diego are under investigation by the Department of Justice.

The investigation of these schools is in relation to the Supreme Court decision in ‘Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, which held that race-conscious admissions programs at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina violated the Equal Protection Clause.”

Its now enforcement time for this Supreme Court ruling!

The investigation is to determine whether or not the admissions at these schools are in compliance with the Supreme Court ruling which prohibited race from being a factor in school admissions.

“Federal officials have requested applicant-level admissions data, including test scores, race and ethnicity information, admissions decisions, and internal communications related to admissions practices, according to reporting from the Associated Press.”

This ruling which was articulating a basic American principle that race should not be a factor.

“The court said universities may consider an applicant’s discussion of how race affected his or her life, but may not use essays or other means to recreate the admissions systems struck down in the decision.”

All the aforementioned universities said they were reviewing the federal notice and each school claim that their school were in compliance.

We will see if indeed this is determined to be the case.

“Colleges and universities across the country have faced increased scrutiny as they adjust admissions policies following the Court’s decision, which significantly changed how schools evaluate applicants.”

This is an important moment in our nation in terms of enforcing law and ending affirmative action and race based admissions.

Affirmative action has been ruled wrong and un-American.

We will see if schools comply with the law and the American way.
