After they admitted being surprised by the theories, they stressed that pricing decisions are made centrally outside of shopping hours, meaning pricing won't fluctuate dramatically as some fear.

"We are surprised by the theories on that. Our price changes are handled centrally, they are associate-led, and they are pushed through a secure system outside of shopping hours so that the prices remain stable throughout the day."
