Who is Alex on 'Paradise'? Cast Promotes Show After Latest Mystery Revealed in Episode 7
The cast of Paradise is promoting the show in New York City right now amid the big mystery surrounding “Alex.”
Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, and season two’s new stars Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty stepped out for a SiriusXM event on Tuesday (March 24) in New York City.
The 7th episode of season two debuted this week and it ended on a major cliffhanger surrounding who, or what, is “Alex.”
The first season of the show followed the murder of President Cal Bradford and how his Secret Service security detail Xavier Collins (Brown) was targeted as a suspect. The big twist that was revealed during the show was that it took place in an underground bunker following an apocalyptic doomsday event.
In season two, Xavier searches for his wife Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.
So, who is Alex?

The name Alex has been mentioned a couple times throughout the season, including as the person or entity that Thomas‘ character Link wants to kill once he finds the bunker. We also heard Julianne‘s character Sinata ask a cleaner how Alex was doing.
You might also remember that Link’s former business partner Henry Miller, who was killed by Billy in a flashback scene, had a wife named Alex. She was suffering from Huntington’s Disease and Miller convinced Billy to let him end his wife’s life before he was assassinated.
There was also an email sent to a Circuit City employee from an Alex Q, reading “A killer will be born on June 6 at 12:01 a.m. She can be stopped when it matters, if you deliver a message to her.” This referred to the birth of Jane, who later became Sinatra’s assassin.
At the end of episode seven, Sinatra goes to a secret area of the bunker to meet with Alex.
Alex appears to be a thing, not a person.
It’s likely that Alex is the codename for a technology created by Miller that is now being used by Sinatra. Some theories believe that the technology allows for time travel, with Sinatra possibly using it to change history, including the death of her son Dylan.
We learned at the end of episode 7 that Link’s real name is Dylan and that he was born on the same day as Sinatra’s dead son. Could she have actually altered time and brought him back to life?!
Find out why the show is going to end after season three.
