Once upon a time, the words "protein" and "plant-based" didn’t seem to belong in the same sentence. Anyone following a plant-based diet has likely been inundated with the familiar question: "Are you getting enough protein in your diet?" Fast-forward to today, and all sorts of high-protein plant-based powders exist, shutting down the naysayers. And one of the leading names in this space is Ka’Chava.
Ka'Chava is always looking to elevate its game, and its newest coffee flavor, launched just last week, certainly hits the mark. Made with real decaf Brazilian beans, it’s the perfect compromise when you're craving a coffee fix without all the caffeine and crash that comes with it.
Packed with 26 vitamins and minerals and over 85 superfoods, nutrients, and plant-based ingredients, Ka’Chava is a full-bodied nutritional shake. Two scoops give you 25 grams of a plant-based protein blend featuring organic sacha inchi, yellow pea, and brown rice proteins, plus organic amaranth, quinoa, oat milk, and coconut milk. On top of that, it’s non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, and completely free of artificial ingredients and preservatives.

Okay, but how does the coffee flavor actually taste? I'm pleased to report that it's delicious. I was vegan for several years and relied heavily on Ka’Chava, so I’m no stranger to their blends. Though I no longer follow a vegan lifestyle, I still tend to err towards plant-based protein powders because they just sit easier for me than whey. Ka'Chava's protein powders blend easily, resulting in a smooth and easy-to-chug consistency.
Compared to other protein blends, the calories are a touch higher, but for the nutrient density and flavor, it’s well worth it. And as a self-proclaimed coffee addict myself, this one’s officially earning a regular spot in my rotation.
