A new report has shed light on whether the Lewis family are considering intervening to sack Igor Tudor as Tottenham drop closer and closer to the precipice.

Spurs fans would have hoped that Tudor’s arrival would have lifted a squad lacking in belief and confidence, but instead the opposite has happened.

The quality of the performances has arguably regressed under the Croat, who has made some curious selection calls, most of which have backfired.

BBC Sport have now claimed that Tottenham’s majority owners, ENIC, do not plan on making the decision on Tudor’s future themselves.

The report backs up what we have heard from other sources by stating that there is ‘a growing disconnect’ between the Croat and the Spurs squad.

However, sources indicate that the Lewis family will not step in to remove Tudor and will leave the decision to the club’s executive team.

It is explained that Tottenham’s owners have never been involved in the day-to-day running of the club, even during Daniel Levy’s era, and will continue to allow those on the ground to make the decisions.

The decision is expected to be made by the club’s CEO, Vinai Venkateshem, and sporting director, Johan Lange, who made the call to replace Frank with Tudor last month.

Who are the contenders to replace Tudor at Spurs?

Pundits have proposed that Ryan Mason could return to Tottenham for his third stint as interim head coach should Tudor be sacked.

Sources have claimed that Spurs have already contacted club legend Robbie Keane about taking his place in the N17 hotseat.

Other outlets have suggested that Tottenham see Sean Dyche as the right man to get them out of trouble, even though the Englishman lasted just 114 days at Nottingham Forest before being sacked last month.
