Explosions rock Tehran as Iran conflict with U.S. and Israel enters 7th day
Explosions struck several areas of Tehran overnight as the Iran-U.S.-Israel war entered its seventh day, with Donald Trump demanding Iran’s unconditional surrender.
The war between Iran, the United States, and Israel entered its seventh day on Friday as powerful explosions were reported overnight across several areas of Tehran, including residential districts and areas near the University of Tehran. Reports said schools and civilian areas were also damaged in the latest wave of strikes, raising fears of growing civilian casualties and damage to key infrastructure.
Reuters reported that U.S. President Donald Trump said there would be no agreement with Iran except its “unconditional surrender,” escalating Washington’s position as the conflict intensifies. Trump wrote that after such a surrender and the selection of new leadership in Tehran, the United States and its allies would work to rebuild Iran and strengthen its economy.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, however, rejected the idea of surrender, saying Iran remains committed to lasting peace in the region but will firmly defend the country’s “dignity and authority.” He added that mediation efforts by some countries have begun, but warned that those who started the conflict should be the main target of diplomatic pressure.
According to media reports, at least 1,332 people have been killed in Iran since the start of U.S. and Israeli strikes, while Iranian forces have launched retaliatory missile and drone attacks against Israel and U.S. positions in the region. The escalating confrontation has also triggered strikes and security alerts in several Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain.
Analysts warn that the widening conflict could draw more regional actors into the war and further destabilize the Middle East, as both sides continue to exchange attacks and diplomatic efforts to halt the fighting remain uncertain.
