The Second CrossFit Open 2026 Workout Is Here—And It's Brutal
Last Friday marked the first week of the 2026 CrossFit Open, the precursor to the annual CrossFit Games.
While only the most elite, fittest, and more likely than not, craziest, athletes qualify for the CrossFit Games, athletes of all skill levels can compete in the CrossFit Open.
Last week brought us Open 26.1, the first workout of this year's Open — much to the chagrin of legs all around the world. It was an ascending and descending ladder of wall balls and box jump overs, totaling 256 reps of wall balls and 108 box jump overs with a 12 minute cap. If you got exhausted just from reading that, you're not alone.
Now, the WOD for Open 26.2 has been revealed. Unfortunately, it's not any easier.

This Cryptic Clue Left Everyone Guessing
Last week, CrossFit Games Director Dave Castro dropped two hints that made two things pretty clear: it would contain wall balls, and it would have an up-and-down rep scheme.
This week, Castro only dropped one hint—and it left pretty much everything to the imagination.
The video shows what appears to be a wild oats plant blowing in the wind against a backdrop of a blue sky, with some faint mountains in the distance. What could this possibly mean?
Without explaining his logic, one coach in the comments drew a clear conclusion: "That's a burpee over a rower if I ever saw one."
Another commenter put their BA in literature to use. "Wild oats. Typical height 60cm," they wrote. "The enter and exit the frame. Disappearing and reappearing. 60 double unders." Since wild oat seeds are viable in soil for five days, they deduced this meant the WOD would be five rounds. To top it all of, they also concluded that rings would be involved. Why? "The awn hangs from the stem, hanging gymnastics, rings."
