Supercomputer predicts how far Tottenham will get in the Champions League
Tottenham Hotspur now know the size of the task ahead in the Champions League and a supercomputer has predicted just how far they will get.
With the play-off round of the Champions League now behind us, the round of 16 draw has finally taken place.
Tottenham Hotspur will face Atletico Madrid in the next round, Simeone’s men fresh off a 7-4 aggregate victory in their play-off tie against Club Brugge.
Spurs also know their route to the final, with possible ties against Newcastle United or Barcelona in the quarter-finals and a potential semi-final clash against Arsenal.
Tottenham vs Atletico Madrid: Supercomputer predicts Spurs Champions League exit
Betting Lounge have now issued their prediction for the upcoming rounds of the Champions League, including Spurs’ round of 16 tie against Atletico Madrid.
Unfortunately, the supercomputer expects Tottenham’s Champions League run to end in the last 16 against Diego Simeone’s side.
An aggregate scoreline of 3-2 has been predicted across the two legs between the Spanish outfit and Igor Tudor’s team.
What the supercomputer predicts for other English clubs
Elsewhere, Bayern Munich are projected to inflict more European pain on Arsenal by defeating them in the final of the competition.
According to the AI’s predictions, Bayern will beat the Gunners on penalties in the showpiece, extending Arsenal’s wait for a first Champions League title.
Spurs‘ bitter rivals are forecast to see off Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting CP and Barcelona en route to the final before falling short.
Among the other English clubs, Liverpool are tipped to reach the semi-finals before losing to Bayern Munich, having knocked out Chelsea in the quarter-finals after the London side eliminated current holders Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16.
As for Manchester City, they are predicted to beat Real Madrid in the round of 16, only for Bayern to end Pep Guardiola’s side’s run in the next stage.
